Phillip Lester is an acoustic / classical guitarist, composer, and recording artist. His compositions and arrangements for solo fingerstyle guitar incorporate a blend of classical, jazz, folk, Spanish, and Celtic influences.

Both nylon string classical and steel string acoustic guitars are used in his performances to bring to life the music of several centuries as well as his own compositions.
 

Having studied with classical guitar virtuoso, Christopher Parkening, and Windham Hill recording artist, Alex De Grassi, Phillip brings an orchestral approach to his solo guitar style.  His idiosyncratic fingering makes the instrument sound like dual guitars instead of one. Creating melodic landscapes on nylon and steel string acoustic guitar, his solo guitar compositions are characterized by a strong lyrical emphasis and  comforting gentle melodies.  His instrumental recordings, Dreamsong and Carols of the Nativity, reduce stress and provide tasteful background music for special occasions. The recordings are especially popular with massage-therapists, chiropractors, doctors, dentists, and dancers, as well as fans of fingerstyle guitar music. His recordings have been featured on radios stations from Portland, Oregon to Boston, Massachusetts. His musical influences include Andres Segovia, Christopher Parkening, Earl Klugh, Chet Atkins, George Winston, Alex DeGrassi, and Andrew York.
